Welcome to the International Association for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR), the world’s central hub for the academic exploration of legal and social philosophy. Since our founding in 1909, we have led the way in academic research and development, uniting over 2,000 members across 41 countries. Through our biennial World Congress, we share the latest research trends, foster vibrant exchange among our members, and collectively push the boundaries of knowledge.

Our commitment to academic excellence is reflected in our publications, including the international journal Archiv für Rechts- und Sozialphilosophie (ARSP) and the IVR Encyclopedia of the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy. More than just an association, the IVR is a community of scholars dedicated to continually exploring the fundamental questions facing humanity.
